Airbus has begun inspecting A330neo aircraft in production after an issue was identified in the horizontal stabiliser section. No A330neos were delivered to customers in June or July due to the inspections, while Bloomberg reported that only one aircraft was delivered in August, to Starlux Airlines.
Airbus delivered nine A330neos between January and May 2026, including three in March, two in April and four in May. The company said the issue was isolated, that the root cause had been identified and that deliveries had resumed.
Airbus plans to deliver around four A330neos per month and aims to increase the production rate to five aircraft per month by 2029. Across all aircraft programmes, the manufacturer delivered 418 aircraft in the first seven months of the year, up from 373 during the same period last year, while maintaining its 2026 delivery target of around 870 aircraft.
